Himalayan Balsam, grows faster than the native plants, out competing with them. They spread 8,000 seeds per plant, and grown around water ways, when they die off they leave the banks bare causing soil erosion when there's heavy rain. We are organising a "Himalayan Balsam Bash". Where the community will come out to remove this invasive plant from our local areas. Currently planned for the 24th & 25th of May 2025 next to a patch of river near you!
Local Community Events
A strong community spirit is incredibly important to Liberal Democrats, whilst leading some events ourselves, we would also like to publicise other events that help bring the community together.
