Samantha Walker and Cllrs Helen and Peter Dyke have been inundated by angry Hoo Rd residents wanting to know where the promised traffic calming measures are and why the Highways Dept or Police are not consulting them. Under the redevelopment plans, money was allocated for traffic calming measures. But so far Hoo Rd has been left to the mercy of speeding traffic. Replying to concerns raised by your Lib Dem Councillors, the Highways Dept say usually the money can only be released once all the houses are occupied and the new roads are adopted as public highways. Samantha said "this is totally unacceptable, we still haven't seen any plans and time is moving on. I will be asking Helen and Peter to take the matter further with the Highways dept".
